Where is it?
Balmain is an inner-city suburb of Sydney. Now hip and trendy, the locals have turned against their rugby league team and have embraced ultimate.
Games are played at Birchgrove Oval, Grove Street, Balmain.
When do they play?
Saturdays, until dark - from 3.30 in winter and from 5pm in summer.
How hard is the game?
Everyone is welcome, superstars to beginners.
How do I get there?
Bus number 441 from the QVB (Queen Victoria Building) in the city goes right to the ground (and carries on, so get off at the right place).
The Greenwich/Hunters Hill ferry stops just down the road at Longnose Point - get off the ferry and walk up the hill, the field is on your left when you get past the next bay. Ferries are conviently timed to get you there at the top of each hour.
Who can I contact to confirm that it's on?
There are a heap of regular players. Try Pat or just ask around at Northern Suburbs leagues. Pat is definitely the main man. Definitely. When he takes the cones to the pub, its all over.
Anything else I should know?
Usually we have a drink/dinner after a game.
[*** - the most fun pick-up in town].
